Latitude festival is an annual award winning festival showcasing the very best from Music and the Arts; Film to Music; Comedy to Literature; and Theatre to Poetry. The festival is set in the rolling hills around lighted woods and a stunning lake of Henham Park in Southwood, Suffolk countryside of England. The first Latitude Festival was on July 2006 and has been more popular by the year and with the impressive bookings shows the events success. The event features diverse field of arts. It features various bands and artists in music, theatre, dance poetry and many more.
This year is the festival’s 10th anniversary and is coming back with big difference, big surprises and new announcements. It has become famous for its unique atmosphere and fastidiously entertaining mixture of Art, Theatre, Dance, Poetry and Politics. It is the best part of cultural summer festival season and home to probably the only multi-colored sheep you’ll see.
Two months to go until the start of the Festival’s 10th anniversary, and organizers, Festival Republic, are excited to showcase this year’s creativity the outstanding line up of participants. Latitude will take place in Henham Park from the 16th-19th of July. The difference in this year’s celebration is the announcement of new names added to the line-up. Among the newly announced joining the party will be Warpaint, Ed Harcourt, Adam French, Superglu, Frett, The Boomtown Rats and Oliver Daldry. While, Patrick Cash and Murray Lachlan Young has been added to poetry bill.
Among the Comedy line-up additions are Andrew Maxwell, Jason Byrne and Max Steel. Hanif Kureishi, author of Buddha of Suburbia was added to the list of Literary Arena. This much awaited Latitude Festival is very much prepared for the event having two zone managers dedicated to attend to the guests and disabled campsite covering 24 hours. They also have volunteers, campsite assistants, stewards, staff and security personnel. Security guards and Stewards can be easily identified by their shirts to give immediate assistance in case guests encountered any problem.
