M2M’s M and M meltdown

M2M

If you are a late 90’s Kid you will definitely know this lyric “Don’t say you love me you don’t even know me if you really want me then give me some time”? These are the words spoken by these two beautiful young Norwegian teens Marion Raven and Marit Larsen in their first single released in 1999 entitled “Don’t Say You Love Me” which was patronized by most American teen listeners.

Both of them grew up in the region east of Oslo of Lorenskog since they were five years old and became the best of friends and were also both discovered as singers and signed to Atlantic Records in 1998. Their band name before was “Marion and Marit” they became M2M because of a fan contest that they have initiated allowing the patrons to choose their band’s name.

These girls are known for their sweet melodious voices, and because of that one of their originals “Don’t say you love me” was included in the soundtrack of the famous “Pokemon: The first Movie” which doubled their fans from teens now down to the kids.

This group has already proved themselves in the American music industry until the big M and M meltdown took over M2M causing a sudden split of sound. Later in 2002 the band is still striving to promote their songs and later trying more mature types of lyrical approaches found on their second album entitled “The Big room” and they just found their voices adjusting, yet their songs still got included in one renowned Tv series entitled Dawson’s Creek also at a Panteen Pro-Voice Concert still Atlantic Records dropped the career of the band because of lack of record sales the band truly is trying and have found fans in Asia and Australia but no longer thriving in American hit charts and sound waves.

M2M was disbanded because of they have gone through the normal trend in the music industry who is on a daily swing and if singers, bands won’t catch up, adjust, and improve their musicality and creativity cut throats happen.

Though they got separated as a group this group has pursued careers of their own and became successful shortly after they were dropped from Jewel’s tour Marion was instantly signed as a solo recording artist while Marit returned to schooling.

The cut throat was a painful experience for these two hopeful teens yet this experience even became their stepping stone to fame as a separated team which lead them to discover their own gifts and roads to cross in order to move forward.
