Taylor dedicates her song Never Grow Up to Jamie King’s kid

Taylor+Jamie

To be a godson of Taylor Swift is super. But having a song being dedicated to by the magnanimous Swift? Boy, that’s beyond!

Taylor Swift dedicated her song Never Grow Up to Jamie King’s son during one of her numbers on the ongoing 1989 tour. The gesture was touching and definitely endearing. “I wrote it when I was like 18 0r 19, but my friend just had a baby and she made me a godmother of it and I was holding this little baby the other night and I was just thinking differently. When you’re holding onto something that’s so innocent and so perfect and has no idea what’s coming for it with the world. The world is going to throw so many things at you as we grow up.” – The singer mentioned, while on stage in front of some 55, 000 fans in Santa Clara, California. While the song was part of her 2010 album, it was the first time Taylor sang it live, which made it even sweeter. King saw the clip and tweeted her appreciation saying, “This is beautiful Tay – Leo Thames is so blessed.’

Jaime King and taylor Swift

The song is undeniably perfect and fit for the message Taylor has to send to her godson. These lines from the song are so touching, you might want to hug Taylor right then there: Don’t you ever grow up, it could stay this simple / No one’s ever burned you, nothing’s ever left you scarred / And even though you want to, just try to never grow up.

We know that Taylor has a lot of friends. Popular friends, on that note. We’ve seen her with supermodels and celebrities that own the most beautiful faces in the world. While the viewing mass thought it’s just all about the glam and fun, this side of Taylor showed that she’s just like any of us who cares and loves her friends, even treating them like her own. Thumbs up Tay Tay! This made you just even more adorable.

Furtado never had any concerns when it comes to making her name a sweet catch upon the release of internationally acclaimed singles I’m Like A Bird and Turn Off The Light. The thick and hurly-burly approach on both of the songs had made it indelible tracks during the time of its release.

Nelly Furtado debuted with her album Whoa, Nelly!, which basically sums up the success of this venture as this is when Nelly Furtado had been widely known as a relevant artist. It is with I’m Like A Bird that Furtado managed to snatch a coveted Grammy gramophone for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance awarded in 2001. Carrie Underwood is back with a latest track and an upcoming album

Carrie Underwood-Single Art-Smoke Break-20Aug2015

The country hit maker is back with a new single and much anticipated upcoming album. Carrie Underwood fans, you no longer need to wait because the songstress is very much in return with the same original sound we have learned to love her first with.

Nah, Smoke Break isn’t about an experiment or reinvention. This latest single is about the very same Carrie belting high notes and singing in a country vibe. Set aside the pop sounding side of this singer because this track is about going back to her roots by having another piece of a country song.

Smoke Break is a story of the majority of us. However, the listener might take it, literally or metaphorically, the song narrates what happens to the commoners. First lines are about a mother who works hard for her kids. The introduction itself is a full story. Hear lines ‘She’s a small-town, hard-working woman just trying to make a living / Working three jobs, feeding four little mouths in a run-down kitchen / When you never taking nothing and doing nothing but giving / It’s hard to be a good wife and a good mom and a good Christian and get into the trance of visual depiction of everyday heroism.

carrie-underwood

The track is a telltale of fighting and getting tired but still battling through again. But this is not about empowerment or anything of the same note. There is no distinct message of positivity when it comes to dealing with matters. The song is stuck in the middle of the circumstance. The intricate telling of how things happen and how they eventually work out.

The song was penned by Carrie, Chris Destefano, and Hillary Lindsey and produced by Jay Joyce.

The announcement of the song was a surprise and created a buzz amongst Carrie fans. Her upcoming album named Story Teller is expected to come out this October. With this song included on the said album, get a hint of nothing but pure sounding songs done in a distinct Carrie way.

Despite the fact that Bon Jovi is channeling a masculine and androgen-filled genre, they never shy away from creating tracks that tap on relationships, love, lost and feelings in general. Remembering Whitney and her chart-topping tracks

whitney

With the way that she has imprinted on every music lovers’ life, Whitney Houston will forever be indelible on the music industry, even after her untimely demise on the early months of 2015. It is undeniable that Houston’s magical vocal calisthenics and the glorious way that she have jumped from one genre to the next makes her one relevant artist to have changed the way we see music.

From a humble dream of just singing on a small stage, Whitney Houston had dominated the female vocal league through songs that shouts of human feelings, ballads that have been the soundtracks of normal people, songs that almost everyone can dance upon and the unforgettable way that she has dealt with her accumulated fame.

Houston has topped so many charts, won numerous awards and have been praised and mocked by almost every music critic who have ever walked the Earth, but everyone knows that by the end of each day, her amazing talent to entertain and deliver is impeccable and that no one have been born with the same passion and talent that she had possessed.

Whitney Houston has been a frequent name in the US Billboard Hot 100 and during the span of her entire career, the iconic diva managed to put out a total of 11 tracks to go straight at the zenith of the weekly lists. Below are some of the most memorable and unforgettable songs that have established Houston as a relevant artist of the music industry in general.

Who would ever forget the legendary song ‘I Will Always Love You’ of the movie ‘The Bodyguard’? The heartfelt lyrics, the usual tagging of the song to the then-infamous Hollywood superstar Kevin Costner and the vocal calisthenics displayed by the late artist have made it easy to stay on top for a whopping 14 weeks in the glorious year of 1992.

Truthfully, this Whitney Houston classic has been revived and covered by a copious number of artists and yet, only the original singer can do such justice to this well-written prose.

Equally iconic, the upbeat song ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’ is one of the many testaments of Whitney Houston’s vocal versatility, which made this track a two-week holder as the Number 1 song in 1987.

Lesser known songs such as ‘I’m Your Baby Tonight’, ‘So Emotional’ and ‘Exhale’ also put Whitney Houston’s name on the lead of the pack as all songs peaked at the top spot for 1 week apiece for the years 1990, 1987 and 1995 respectively.

Sang in 1986, ‘The Greatest Love of All’ vested other equally famous songs at that time when it managed to put a strong hold as Number 1 for three straight weeks. The feisty song ‘All The Man That I Need’ is Houston’s second track to get the coveted top rank in 1990 and the bold lyrics about a woman wanting to have a stronger man and stayed there for two weeks.

Ballads such as ‘Didn’t We Almost Have It All’, ‘Where Do Broken Hearts Go’ and ‘Saving All My Love For You’ also proves that even heartbreak smash hits, long as it’s from Whitney, can be filed onto the pedestal as the three managed to climb the charts in 1987, 1988 and 1985.

Other Whitney songs which have penetrated the tight canopy of the US Billboard Hot 100 but not able to have a Number 1 finish are You Give Good Love (1985, No.3), I Have Nothing (1993, No,4), One Moment In Time (1988, No.5), I Believe in You In Me (1996, No.4) and Heartbreak Hotel (1999, No. 2)

“Smooth Criminal” by Michael Jackson revisited by traditional Japanese music

smooth-criminal-played-on-tradit

When traditional Japanese music revisits “Smooth Criminal” by Michael Jackson, the result can only be surprising. Indeed, Yoshimi Tsujimoto and his two accomplices resumed brilliantly one of the most popular tubes of the “King of Pop”.

To achieve this amazing reinterpretation of “Smooth Criminal” they used traditional Japanese instruments: a Shakuhachi, a bamboo flute, and two kotos, stringed instrument. These complex instruments are predominately used for classical Japanese music, accompanied by traditional dance and song.

A trio of musicians has revisited with historical instruments, the title “Smooth Criminal”, released in 1987 on the “Bad” album. The decor is also planted with Japanese Kimonos and atmosphere characteristic.

The peaceful, zen atmosphere is practically built around these types of instruments. But arranging this traditional Japanese majesty with a hit song from the West can make for an exceptionally spirited experience. In short, a wonderful cover which should surely amaze you! No doubt that this version made in Japan of “Smooth Criminal” will be as successful.

“Smooth Criminal” contains a fast-paced beat intertwined with Jackson’s lyrics about a woman named Annie, who has been violently attacked in her apartment by a “smooth” assailant.

SMOOTH CRIMINAL

It is indeed that Michael Jackson is a phenomenon. No one could ever forget his contribution to the Music Industry. Since he passed away, it has been tradition to various artists to relive the songs of the late Pop Icon. But this rendition is unique, because it used the traditional Japan Music. This makes it more sentimental. This representation also proves that the songs of the Pop Icon hit the whole world.

Viewed over 450,000 times on YouTube, the delivery of three artists, dressed in kimono, takes place in a setting lined with Japanese cultural references. This meeting between western pop culture and Asian tradition provides a result to a typical and captivating sounds. Proof that music is universal.

Carly Rae’s your type is the anthem for the friendzoned

Carly Rae

The same old flavor is coming back on the seventh track of the Canadian sensation’s latest album named E•MO•TION. Carly Rae Jepsen’s Your Type track gives the same vibe we have known to be hers rooting back from her early releases like the song that jumpstarted her international exposure, Call Me Maybe. It has the same catchy and upbeat rhythm unlike the single Making the Most of the Night where she became more adventurous and tried a style that’s slow and downtempo.

Contrary to its happy beat though, the words of the song depict heartache. Calling the friendzoned nation, this is the song for you. The track Your Type conveys one sided love. The unrequited deep affection of a friend to the other. The lyrics are told the typical story frenzied tales are going through. Understand how this kind of love feels like through the lines and feel the heartbreak that is coming from each word: I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I love you / I didn’t mean to say what I said / I miss you, I mean it, I tried not to feel it / But I can’t get you out of my head.

Only those who have experienced this kind of love can understand the lyrics deep down. And what can be worse than knowing that your object of desire loves another being? Uh-oh. Hear these lines from the said song and glimpse in the exact form of how it feels like: I bet she acts so perfectly / You probably eat up every word she says /And if you ever think of me / I bet I’m just a flicker in your head.

The chorus must’ve been the most killer part: And I break all the rules for you / Break my heart and start again / I’m not the type of girl you call more than a friend. Thank heavens these words are accompanied by the dance beat, hearing this won’t be as hard, especially for those who are going through the same love dilemma. This must’ve been one of the best from Carly Rae’s latest album. It’s so good that we hope it’ll do the same as her past hits high on hit charts and market sales.

Meet YouTube Red

YOUTUBE RED

YouTube launches Red, its paid ad-free formula, but with music.

That’s it, it’s official. Just under a year after the “confessions” of Susan Wojcicki about a pay formula and without advertising on YouTube, the streaming service has announced the launch of Red YouTube. Available as of October 28 in the US, but without the international calendar, the subscription will be charged $ 9.99 per month in exchange for several services: watching videos without advertising, the ability to save content for offline consultation on smartphone or tablet, reading in the background on these devices and access to Google Play Music, knowing that a subscription to Red YouTube or Google Play Music will now synonymous with automatic subscription to the other service. As we reported early last April, the subscription will also offer access to exclusive content. These will emerge early 2016 and currently are moving to the US target, as evidenced by the shortlist of the channels concerned.

Meanwhile, YouTube has announced the upcoming launch of a stamped YouTube Music Service, but without venturing too much into details. For presentation, we learn that “YouTube Music is designed to make the discovery, viewing and listening to music easier than ever. Any song or artist you choose will set you on YouTube Music from a personal journey through one of the richest musical catalogs register, click a song you love and see where the music takes you. “As YouTube Gaming, the new service will be entitled to a dedicated application. “We are working to launch Red YouTube and our YouTube Music applications, Gaming and Kids on more markets in the near future,” says the subsidiary of Google.

Of course, the introduction of Red YouTube represents a very significant change. If we disregard Music Key, who never came out of beta and is unlikely to survive these ads, this is the first time the heavyweight streaming, owned by a titan of publicity, attempts to away from the free model that made its success. Subscriptions, which must also fund the Google Play Music catalog, they will be sufficient to compensate authors’ videos at least as generously as advertising? To win the bet, YouTube will have to convince mass, even as users are “free” of advertising already using ad blockers. Of course, an alternative would be to no longer tolerate these devices, like the approach taken by the powerful Axel Springer group in Germany. It is difficult, however, to risk altering the experience of users accustomed: just to see the reactions that can generate a single bug.

Hail to Grammy’s most awarded female singer of all time

alisonkrauss

Due to our blatant support to pop and mainstream music, we sometimes tend to overlook some other genres that might also spark our interest given the chance that appropriate attention had been channeled.

And with this strong veneration to anything considered as ‘in’, we all have this somewhat incorrect notion that only those who are sheltered by the popular genre dominates the well-celebrated Grammy Awards.

You’d be surprised to know that it’s not Taylor Swift, Beyonce or even Mariah Carey to have snatched the most Grammy wins by a female singer despite the fact that they can be seen and heard at almost every corner.

Armed with her dreamy vocals, the sultry sound of her musical instruments such as fiddle, piano and mandolin all mixed up by her early exposure to music fame at the age of 13, bluegrass slash country singer Alison Krauss is currently the title holder of the number of Grammy Awards won by an astounding count of 27.

Born Alison Maria Krauss, this soulful talented singer first made her inglorious mark in the music industry when she triumphed to receive the Best Bluegrass Recording for her track I’ve Got That Old Feeling.

Alison Krauss’ rise to fame had been unstoppable ever since and her name had been established as one of the best country singers to have ever roamed the Earth.

During the entire course of her successful career, Kraus was able to release 16 studio albums, all of which have been positively praised by music critics for her ceaseless attempts to put something new on the plate while retaining the main essence of her focal genre.

Alison Krauss is also being associated and tagged with the musical group Union Station with whom she shared her successes with since their formation in 1989.

Krauss’ first album is a solo act with the title Different Strokes and her last was Paper Airplane, this time with Union Station in 2011.

Alison Krauss is tied up with conductor Sir Georg Solti with having the most number of Grammy wins and she even received a special achievement award by the same award giving body last 2005 for her humongous contributions and always sparkling talent.

Aside from her well-known victories on Grammy’s Krauss’ musical capabilities had also been recognized by different award factions such as the International Bluegrass Music Association Awards which earned her 14 merits, Country Music Association Awards besting 9 awards and is dubbed to be along Tim McGraw as the best country singers, Academy of Country Music Awards and the CMT Music Awards which have both heralded her 2 trophies.

Alison Krauss’ influences can be deduced by bagshot singers and bands with the likes of The Rolling Stones, Dolly Parton, AC/DC, Carly Simon, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Lou Gramm and Paul Rodgers.

The singer can be remembered well for her internationally-acclaimed tracks such as Baby Now That I Found You, Rich Woman, Killing the Blues, Simple Love, Please Read the Letter, And When I Die.

As of now, Alison and Union Station have been touring to special spots in the United States and there hadn’t been any news of the singer retiring anytime soon.

Rachel Platten’s Fight Song sent a clear message during 2015 Teen Choice Awards

rachel platten

The 2015 Teen Choice Awards has become more meaningful as Rachel Platten graced the show with her moving performance.

Put credits to both her touching track named Fight Song and undeniable stage presence, the crowd came to stand and clapping as they uttered the same lyrics being sung by the songstress up the stage.

The 34-year old singer made it clear – do not ever give up and continue fighting in the face of struggle. The empowering message the song conveys must’ve been derived from the struggles she had personally and professionally.

It was just recently that she focused into writing and penning her own words and turn it into her own music. After her 2011 release, the career of this belting songstress seemed to put into halt as she lost her manager and label after her first track 1,000 ships penetrated the airwaves.

It was not until she met her now manager Ben Singer of SMG Entertainment that she was able to give attention to her writing, something that was put into bat when she first started.

Seems like her time has come as the said song made an even louder noise after her latest live performance at the recently concluded Teen Choice Awards. The performance started with her sitting while playing the piano and humming the first lines of the song.

It didn’t end there though. The song’s essence was even stressed out when she stood latter part of her performance and gave flawless belting take on the song’s chorus. The production was concluded with teenagers coming up the stage holding boards with messages like “I fight for malaria’, ‘I fight for the future’ and others.

Fight Song was released this year and reached top 7 from the US Billboard Top 100 – the highest this track has ever reached so far. The song has also been used on several TV series like Pretty Little Liars and Revenge. The same track has also been used in the campaign of Ford.

Janet Jackson on a steady track to reclaiming success

Janet Jackson on BET Awards

SEVEN YEARS – Seven Years in the world of music is a time too long. In seven years, a former street performer may be the next big name in the industry, and the industry’s hottest names may have to step back from the limelight. In seven years, an artist may make a name for a quick blazing burn before fading out, or for an artist to start with a soft glow and steadily shine brighter. In seven years, talents come and go and generations of listeners change their taste in music. Those are the reasons why a hiatus that long is comparable to step on a field with land mines. Familiar, yet risky.

For any of her fan, you already know who the subject of this article would be even without the title. The music community thought Janet Jackson has permanently bid her goodbye to the music industry. After her 2008 album Discipline failed to make its mark to the listeners followed by another two flops and a wardrobe malfunction, she has finally signed off of her career with her songs having no trace on the radio- and yes, together with her. For the new kids who recently just acquired an interest in music past Janet years will ask, “Who is she?”

With the new audience and new ideas determining what’s new in music, making a comeback would be hard, especially for someone who have created no build up, no fanfare, and minimum buzz. In which the charm lies there and the fact that she is Janet Jackson; the one who made a great influence on pop music since the 80s through creating albums after albums together with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis that hooks listeners and made her an icon.

As the saying goes, “absence makes the heart fonder… Or wonder.” The former is true for Janet Jackson. With no sightings of her for the past years, fans are craving for some news about her and when some did come, the once cold name becomes hot again and she steps back into the music industry welcomed warmly.

And as the fans have welcomed her back with arms wide open, the question is, would she sustain the buzz in her name? As a matter of fact, yes. The excitement of her comeback is yet to tone down.

She’s currently on a tour with sold-out venues, and her newly released single “No Sleep” is a chart topper. Music critics also praise her and fans are excited for her album coming this fall. If that does not scream a successful comeback, what else would? And with her name already established back on the shelves of shining trophies, we’re just waiting for her to reclaim the crown – with steady success, it isn’t impossible.

Rihanna’s album is not ready yet!

RIHANNA

You will not see Rihanna’s new album this year! RiRi has ,in any case, expressed doubts about the imminent arrival of its highly anticipated new album. Tease on social networks since last year, preceded by extremely exciting singles, the eighth album of the singer of “Diamonds” is not ready yet.

“It is not over! For me it’s never over until it is. Until the decisive moment, “she explained to the NME. Well, rest assured though, in the mouth of the singer perfectionist, everything is relative. Rihanna fans are on edge. Everyone is really excited about her new album. Surely, fans will expect only the best from Rihanna. Fans would patiently wait because they know that this anticipated album put so much hard work to make it the next big thing. And surely, they wouldn’t mind waiting. Rihanna is well aware that everyone is waiting for her album, but it does offer the best, and given the quality of her last three titles, “FiveFourSeconds,” “American Oxygen” and “Bitch Better Have My Money” requires expect a return in great shape.

“No matter what I post on the Net, three comments there is someone to ask,” This is where R8. “I can post anything, it’s the only thing that matters”, she added. “They will not care about everything except that. But I am impatient too, because I cannot wait to give them something great.” For now, take your troubles patiently and show Rihanna as you wait by voting for her at the next NRJ Music Awards – you have until September 27 to do it!

“Body On Me” Rita Ora ft. Chris Brown – Of sultry, powerful mid-tempo jam

Body On Me

You need to hear “Body On Me” by Rita Ora featuring Chris Brown. A sultry and powerful mid-tempo jam that will stop you on the first line and will get you hooked even before the track turns to the chorus.

When Rita Ora announced her collaboration with Chris Brown last July, fans from both sides are pretty giddy and the same could be said with Rita Ora herself. The British blonde singer proclaims herself as a fan of Chris Brown and his music and says the two of them are quite excited in working together in this track with Rita Ora even stating, “… I was like no one can sound better on this record how I’m envisioning it than Chris,” on Hot 97’s Nassau according to Music Times.

And for the record, it does sound perfect. When Rita Ora graced us “Poison” after doing only featured acts for a couple of times, we believe the single is a great comeback as the main act. Yet, this follow up is even better. Sexy and a complete hook, “Body On Me” proves Rita Ora has still something up in her sleeves to make her music worth the time and – of course – money.

“Body On Me” is her second single released lifted from her upcoming, yet-to-be-named second album. For someone who’s not yet on the level of having her name marked and established in the industry, despite debuting ahead of the “now hottest names,” this single could help Rita Ora find a steady footing in her career and for Chris Brown to ignite again the flames of the doused torch of his career due to controversies.

The title itself already suggests a sexy theme and the lyrics further emphasized the point. However, this song despite its theme does not sound anything sleazy and is very radio-friendly. It just makes you feel sexy through Rita Ora’s powerful vocals that seems to command the floor – or the bedroom – that blends and glides perfectly well without so much of an effort with Chris Brown’s. It is a mid-tempo jam that has a lip-biting charm. It will demand to be heard, to look past upon its singers’ past negative image, and will let you focus on their talent instead.
