The Black Entertainment Television started The BET Awards in 2001 to celebrate, recognizes the triumphs and success of the artists, entertainers, and athletes in a variety of categories over the past years. The awards are telecast every year and are broadcasted live on BET. The annual ceremony features performances by African Americans artists. The BET Awards is one of the most watched award ceremonies on the cable and its franchise still remains as the number 1 program in the cable TV history among African-Americans.
Last year, Usher shuts down the BET Awards show with an unforgettable medley of his greatest hits, but the show’s recently announced some of the industry’s most influential names in entertainment who are set to appear at the annual BET Awards for this year and it will be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California on June 28, 2015. This year will mark the ceremony’s fifteenth anniversary and the milestone will be celebrated throughout the show.
This year is The BET Awards‘ 15th anniversary and the show’s lineup just got much better because Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar, Chris Brown and Ne-Yo will tapped the stage on fire this year, according to a press release, while entertainer Zendaya and Fantastic Four‘s Michael B. Jordan have been confirmed as the presenters. Tracee Ellis Ross will split hosting duties with her costar Anthony Anderson.
Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj lead this year’s pool of nominees with six each, followed by Beyonce and Lil Wayne with 4 each. While Bruno Mars and Sam Smith were tied for 2.
The BET Awards 2015 will air LIVE on Sunday, June 28, 2015 on BET and will premiere around the world on BET’s international network on Tuesday, June 30 at 9.
