Quick Peek at Fall Out Boy After The Hiatus

Fall Out Boy After The Hiatus

Du du du-du, du du du-du… Some legends are told, but Fall Out Boy’s comeback with a bang is a true myth untold. After the four-year hiatus of the four-man band, they reappear in the scene with their fire-igniting, hype-inducing single, “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark (Light Em Up)”, which was released February 4, 2013 worldwide.

The first track released was hailed triple-platinum single, which also sets their journey towards the “rock-y” path of saving rock ‘n roll.

Chicago-born Fall Out Boy was composed of vocalist and guitarist Patrick Stump, lyricist and bassist Pete Wentz, drummer Andy Hurley, and guitarist Joe Trohman. Their single, “Sugar, We’re Goin’ Down” and “Dance, Dance” are the first two hit singles from their album “From Under The Cork Tree” that put them in the limelight of superstars.

However, after the release of their 4th album, “Folie à Deux”, they retreat and regrouped that signaled their famous four-year hiatus – and of course! – Their ambitious and remarkable 5th album, “Save Rock ‘n Roll.”

Reincarnated, FOB recorded songs that are still raw, but transformed their old signature styles with something new and then entwined it to the new generation’s kind of music.

They shed-off the emo-brand and became more of an alternative band. Their old fans have mixed response; some loves the old more than new, but still promised to stick to FOB’s new music.

“Save Rock and Roll” is an over-all success peaking at The Billboard 200, Top Pop Catalog, Top Digital Albums, Top Modern Rock/Alternative Albums, Top Rock Albums, and Top Canadian Albums.
Stumps snarling, “Put on your war paint” definitely sounds like a battle-cry that yep, they’re going to “defend the faith, going down swinging.”

However, despite the over-all positive criticisms received by the 5th album, there are still serious doubts floating around: Will Fall Out Boy live to its 5th studio album title?

With the release of their single, “Centuries,” the band answered with a resounding – Yes! “You will remember me, remember me for centuries.” Centuries was their 6th track on their 6th studio album entitled, “American Beauty/ American Psycho.” This latest album of FOB is influenced by different artists and their music.

To name a few are Mötley Crüe’s “Too Fast for Love” and “The Munsters” theme song. They experimented with the myriad of past songs and incorporated it to their tracks in this album where it tackles the American culture.

American Beauty/ American Psycho also peaked The Billboard 200, Top Digital Albums, Top Modern Rock/Alternative Albums Top Rock Albums, and Top Canadian Albums.

FOB’s currently hitting the road with Wiz Khalifa and Hoodie Allen in their tour “The Boys of Zummer.”
