No Doubt, Stefani is Your Hollaback Girl

It is with No Doubt that we have come to know this passionate and sultry lead singer. She exemplified what a full-packaged artist must be. From her sharp and edgy look, to the nasal yet pleasing to the ears voice, her artistic stance, her megawatt smile, her capabilities to sing and rap and dance all at the same time and an appeal that most boys drool for. Her name, as an additional way to remember her, is as unique as a midnight sun. The way she had surpassed a disbanded group and re-emerged as a successful solo artist to being a full-time mother and an entrepreneur, Gwen Stefani is one heck of a femme fatale. One vital part of the music industry that’s just impossible to forget.

From the year 1986 to 2004, Gwen had been a co-founder slash lead vocalist of world-renowned band No Doubt known for their songs like Underneath It All and Don’t Speak. Generally receiving accolades and praises from the whole music industry, No Doubt had climbed its rise to fame and won several Grammys, peaked at music charts worldwide and sold approximately 16 million copies of their genius album, Tragic Kingdom released in 1995.

Every band would tread the path of hiatus and procrastination and that happened to No Doubt paving a solo career for Gwen Stefani in 2004. With a talent to boot and a market harnessed from the former music group, Stefani never had any difficulties with being sold in the music market. She debuted with Love.Angel.Music.Baby in November 2004 which featured collaborations with ingenious producers and singers which includes Linda Perry, The Neptunes and New Order.

L.A.M.B took influence in the music style of the 1980s which focused on New Wave and Electro genres. The album received nominations from the coveted Grammy Awards for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. Most noted songs from this album is If I Were a Rich Man which is pegged at the musical Fiddler on the Roof and Hollaback Girl which is the first US digital download with one million copies legally sold worldwide.

Two years after L.A.M.B.’s success, Stefani continued to shine and became a prolific artist when she released her second solo album entitled Sweet Escape. Unlike the first album, Sweet Escape rotated heavily on electronic and dance music for clubs and was dubbed as a very different approach in comparison. This album featured laid-back songs like 4 in the Morning, an upbeat single Sweet Escape and Wind It Up which gathers up the yodeling parts on a huge musical which is The Sound of Music.

Aside from her singing career, Stefani also ventured out of the business and tried retail and fashion. Naming her clothing line same as her first album, L.A.M.B. takes pride in eclectic pieces under Japanese, Guatemalan and Jamaican style inspirations. Aside from the clothes manufacturing, Stefani’s business expanded to perfumes and accessories.

As of 2014, Gwen Stefani can be seen as a vocal coach on the USTV Reality Series The Voice replacing a good friend Christina Aguilera during her pregnancy.
