Avril Ramona Lavigne was born 27 September 1984 is a Canadian and French singer and composer. She is of French-Canadian and English, Scottish, and German origin.

Lavigne started singing in church in church at a young age, and signed with Arista Records in 2000. At 16, she transferred to Manhattan and started to work on her first album.

She discarded out of high school after the 11th grade when she obtained a record deal.

Blending rock, punk and a rebellious manner, Canadian singer first album sold 15 million copies, with the hit singles “Complicated” and “Sk8er Boi.”

The record sold more than 15 million copies internationally. Let Go produced Lavigne the youngest female soloist to hit number one in the UK.

As of 2013, it has sold close to 7 million copies in the United States and over 16 million copies worldwide.

In the year 2004-2005 Lavigne co-wrote “Breakaway” with Matthew Gerard, which was documented by Kelly Clarkson for the soundtrack to the 2004 film The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement.

Lavigne represented Canada at the closing ceremony of the 2006 Winter Olympics, doing her song “Who Knows” over the eight-minute Vancouver 2010 portion.

By July 2009, nine tracks had been recorded for the new album consisting the songs “Fine” “Everybody Hurts” and “Darlin”.

Three months after the fading out of Goodbye Lullaby, Lavigne declared that work on her fifth studio album had already begun, with eight songs written so far.

After opening up about the serious crisis of Lyme disease that left her bedridden and her fans bothered for months, Avril Lavigne is prepared to discuss the fate of her path.

In an interview with Billboard, Lavigne announced that she is getting better and would release a fresh single titled “Fly” on 16 April. She also proved that she plans to release a Christmas Album.
