Sara Bareilles is more than Just A Love Song

Well some of you might not have the same opinion but after I first saw this artist, I am reminded of The Shining’s female lead and Hollywood’s Olive Oyl, Shelley Duvall.

But then we heard her voice, and we we’re all trapped into a trance of heartbreaks and loss. Her voice is says so much of her musicality.

Fresh, relatable and bold. Sara Bareilles’ seat in the international music scene had been secured by her upward streak of releasing songs that are being loved by the general public as she continues to lay it to the table.

Aside from resemblance to Duvall, her last name is so confusing to spell-out; causing you to focus and know it mentally or else you won’t be able to stream her in YouTube.

After her success with hit-wonder “Love Song” last 2007, Sara slowly climb the music food chain with a fresh vibe and approach on her chosen genre.

Love Song had been a phenomenon reaching the number four spot on Billboard Hot 100 Chart. Currently, Bareilles has garnered over one million record sales, countless Grammy nominations which include the coveted Album of the Year award.

INFLUENCES

With her talent to play the piano and her flawless capability of meshing her vocal ability to it made Bareilles a relevant female in the industry.

Some of the artists being compared to her include Regina Spektor, Colbie Caillat, Billy Joel and Alicia Keys. The edge and piano-based pop with the smart incorporation of jazz, soul and hip is a Bareilles signature and had been one of the many reasons why she stayed afloat on the business.

She cited Etta James and Sam Cooke as some her musical inspirations and influences. The American singer-songwriters’capability of creating heartfelt lyrics and smart use of emotions also make her noteworthy.

DISCOGRAPHY

Sara Bareilles released a total of four studio albums namely Careful Confessions (2005), Little Voice (2007), Kaleidoscope Heart (2010) and The Blessed Unrest (2013).

CAREER

After graduating in UCLA last 2002, Bareilles and the vagabond artist in her performed and exercised her talent through singing on bars and local clubs.

Slowly through her visibility to small towns one after the other, she intelligently made a mark on different places, creating a collective number of followers.

Two years after singing aimlessly on various locations, she managed to sign with Epic Records, April of 2005.

Love Song garnered had become a huge hit in iTunes when it was released in June of 2007.

Because of this ‘testing the waters’ strategy of releasing Love Song as a free single in iTunes, it never have been a surprise when Little Voice, Bareilles’ major-label debut, shot at the top of the list of most downloaded albums on the same music store.

This skyrocket achievement had happened on the first week-release timeframe and entered the Billboard 200 Chart at the 45th spot.

Kaleidoscope Heart’s carrier single King of Anything began to dominate radio stations and snatch a huge amount of airplay in United States come May of 2010.

The album was in full-release on September 7, 2010 and made a huge impact on its debut with 90,000 copies.

Because of her undoubted fame and music industry presence, Sara Bareilles replaced Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls after Nicole’s departure as a judge of NBC’s The Sing-Off running their third season.

Currently, Bareilles is still on the move to impart her greatness through music by constantly being visible on tours, plans of releasing her fifth studio album and stints on television and film.
