Taya Smith the girl who sang the Mega-hit!

Peaking at number 83 on the Billboard Hot 100, March of 2014, this freshly made song entitled “Oceans (Where Feet may fail)” has gone through the mainstream and has reached the hearts of several young people throughout America through the vocal box of this rising artist named Taya Smith known as the girl who made a breakthrough music when her song landed as the first hot Christian song to enter the billboard charts.

This beautiful curly haired Taya Smith is a member of the music group called “Hillsong United” which is one of the many famous gospel tracts singing bands across Australia. She was born and raised in New South Wales, where her background in music all started. But her passion in singing gospel tracts was developed in Lismore where she became a part of the worship team and was also one of the firm leaders teaching and mentoring there, but later in 2010 when secular singing lead her to flyover to Sydney. Her feet landed on Hillsong’s City Campus where she started as a volunteer in the youth plus the adult ministries.

This became a game changer for her, from a youth leadership position she came all the way to becoming a volunteer others might think that this is in a form of demotion? Or hierarchy? But in her mind, she was completely sold out to what she was doing without any complain what so ever since she knows whom she is rendering this service for. Later she also found herself in the circle of the creative team. All her hard work and passion did pay off when she got involved soon after in Hillsong’s youth worship ministry called “Young & Free” wherein she got a shot to be a part of the album.

Her undying passion to teach the Young generation has never died in her heart, but rather the small flicker of light that was lit in Lismore was actually fanned into a blazing flame when she got the opportunity to join this group which has the same cause that she have. And now Taya Smith has blown away fans and those listening to her librettos every time she sings, and lives were changed every time she uses her voice to teach now she is the overseer of the city vocal team, creative elements for young adult events and became one of the lead vocalists in Hillsong events, and Young & Free and UNITED tours.

All this fame was asked to Taya about how she was able to handle so much love from fans and yet she showed not so much of a response, but in humility she just said that all was a huge privilege, and all she had and have in her heart is just a passion for singing true worship.
