Ever heard of Coldplay? Did you know that there is a rising band that has been compared and paralleled several times to the musicality of Coldplay? That’s how good this band is, it is none other than the singing duo brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone comprising the newly formed band “For King & Country”.
This band has gone through different melodies, varying arrangements of rhythms, from acoustics to solid rock renditions and that thing that you will most love about them is their unique way to sing a song as if they are telling a story that will sweep your feet and steal your hearts away.
The Australian brothers have been running strong through thick and thin, has gone through a lot of ups and rock bottom situations and it did not kill them instead it ended up helping them in strengthening their art form They wrote and continue to write songs about their life’s stories which makes it more viral because people can relate to it.
Most of their songs promote love for other people, your families and loved ones, care for your own countrymen which results to one of their music video for their song “The Proof of your Love” making people’s patriotic hearts beat for love and justice.
Not only did they venture to try new sounds like hip-hop with artist Andy Mineo, they still continued to be in partnership with artist producer Aqualung and producer Tedd T. This Duo has set the standards high for them to beat because of the acceptance of their debut album making the release of the second one in 2012 entitled “Crave” creating more tension, though the stakes are high yet the bond of two met the high standards of the fans, Billboard named them as “One of the New Artist to Watch for 2012” a year after in 2013 they got 6 nominations in the GMA Dove Awards, where they won as the New Artist of the Year.
This band has set the records straight starting from their name, “for King & Country” for them it meant to stand for something greater than yourself and that goal has continued to pen as they have written songs under the umbrella of that principle.
One of the famous songs they have ever recorded was a song entitled “Without You” which is about the life of Luke, how he fought through a life- threatening illness which made him look at life on a different angle now.
He sang the song together with his wife, Courtney which made this song more special and heartwarming it speaks about how life’s time could end any moment promoting hope and encouraging to live and love when you still have time to do so.
So this tandem really did change their lives and is also changing the lives of those who listen to their music, inspiring this young generation to stand up for the truth to also fight for the “Their King and Country” on a personal level that they can.
