Something new for Jennifer Hudson

Hudson

We all have witnessed how Jennifer Hudson auditioned, passed, fought and lost on the American talent show American Idol in 2004 alongside equally talented femme fatales Fantasia Barrino, Diana DeGarmo and Jasmine Trias. Though Hudson wasn’t able to win the Idol’s third title during that time, she has been on and off the music industry until her fantastic win on the Academy as Best Supporting Actress for the movie musical Dreamgirls where she played the role of Effie White. After being known on a larger scale, tapping both music and movie industry, Jennifer Hudson’s career is accelerating to being one of the best Idols ever to grace the industry.

Hudson’s impeccable rough voice and talent have paved many ways to keep the shine of her career the best that it can be. The Oscar winning actress is about to take a new endeavor in maximizing her heavenly talent in singing through taking a leading part on the musical adaptation of The Color Purple. Broadway is far a different field for Hudson and rigorous trainings and workshops have been furnished to ensure that she’d be able to perform beautifully.

With her interview from the Entertainment Tonight, Hudson shared in retrospect of her being a newbie in Broadway that, “It’s live. There’s no retakes. It is what it is so you have to be on point and in the moment that’s challenging. But it’s exciting at the same time because I’ve learned no live show is every the same. So you have to be on your toes that’s for sure.”

Jennifer Hudson is said to be working with Orange is the New Black star Danielle Brooks for this adaptation. The Color Purple can be remembered to have starred now bagshot TV host Oprah Winfrey on the 1985 film version making Winfrey as one of the producers of the musical adaptation.
The Broadway show starring Jennifer Hudson would do rounds on November for previews and is said to set moving on December 3rd, officially.
