That Legend Named John

johnlegend

You know he’s not just your ordinary guy after his hit single Ordinary People made its impact on charts making his album reach the platinum mark. And of course let us not forget “All of Me” that became the soundtrack of numbers of weddings here and there.

John Legend is not only your smooth, soulful singer. He’s also the go-to writer of other magnanimous R&B stars with the likes of Alicia Keys, Black Eyed Peas and Janet Jackson. He also had a chance to work with THE Kanye West when the latter was just setting foot on music industry’s golden gates.

There is no surprise with Legend’s talent. Coming from musically inclined family, this artist’s first exposure was playing piano and participating in local church’s choir. This honed the singer’s already innate talent and trained him to perform in front of the crowd. Growing up, he joined several talent contests and joined an a capella group called Counterparts. He also became a choir director in University of Pennsylvania.

His single entitled Ordinary People is responsible why Legend’s name became a noise that resonates on the walls of music industry. Tap Ordinary People for having around two million copies sold worldwide. Not only that but it’s also responsible for 8 nominations during 48th Grammy Awards like Best R&B Album, Best New Artist and Song of the Year.

He then opened a record house in 2007. Year 2013 became another success as the Love in the Future album was released. Who will ever forget the romantic sway coupled by John’s calming voice in All of Me? The album was able to hit first-week sale of 68,000 copies and debuted number 4 in Billboard 200.

Armed with appeal and talent, Legend is considered to be a catch. Good catch so as to mention. But sorry for those who are drooling over with this dashing soul singer for he’s been married with model Chrissy Teigen since 2013.
