Feel Some Strong Country Influence with Luke Bryan

Luke Bryan (1)

It has been long overdue for country music to be recognized and be treated as a part of mainstream music. We have all been surprised and left in awe when huge country artists became triumphant in making this genre known in a global setting. Some of those who have adeptly traversed the pop trend are Carrie Underwood, Shania Twain and Tim McGraw, and as we progress through time, more and more country singers have flourished after their predecessors.

One of those who have been making a lot of ‘quality’ noise in several charts and radio shows is Luke Bryan, and it is best for you to know him better. As expected, this budding country artist is under the strong wings of Capitol Nashville and with how the things are going, the only way for Bryan to go is up.

Hailing from Nashville and born on July 17, 1976, the 39-year old Thomas Luther Bryan has been originally writing songs for country artists like Travis Tritt and Billy Currington. Luke Bryan seemed to know that his talent isn’t supposed to be shadowed by the lyrics he has written and so his career as a full-blown artist started.

It was in 2007 when he signed up with Capitol Records for his first full-pledged studio album entitled ‘I’ll Stay Me’, which encapsulated Bryan’s personality and musical passion.

In the album, the songs All My Friends Say, Country Man and We Rode In Trucks generally gained the positive feedback it deserved igniting the singer’s career into a faster pace. A series of number 1 tracks originated from his follow-up LP entitled Doin’ My Thing, which includes Rain Is A Good Things (co-written with Grammy Awardee Lady Antebellum’s Dave Haywood) and Someone Else Calling You Baby.

Three more albums incorporated and solidified Luke Bryan’s career until 2015 and in total, he managed to sell over seven million albums globally with all his tracks gaining a whopping 27 million in sales and revenues.

Tailgates and Tanlines (2011), Crash My Party (2013) and the recent Kill The Lights (2015) have ensured that Luke Bryan won’t be oblivious to the crowd and his musical outfit has presented convincing strategy of putting the singer’s name in the limelight.

As expected, the fifth album’s carrier track Kick The Dust Up easily placed at number 1 in the Country Airplay Charts. As a follow-up single, the track entitled Strip It Down was made public last August 7 and successfully trumped Dr. Dre’s latest offering out of the Billboard 200 List with 345,000 copies purchased.

Luke Bryan has well-rounded musical influences and he candidly cited George Strait, Alabama, Merle Haggard and Alan Jackson as some of his favorites. He also included Run-D.M.C. and the iconic band Beastie Boys to have exposed him to some other genres aside from country music.

Luke Bryan has received numerous accolades from the biggest award-giving bodies including the Academy Of Country Music Awards (Top New Solo Vocalist and Top New Artist), CMT Music Awards (Video of the Year), American Music Awards (Favorite Male Country Artist) and American Country Countdown Awards (Collaboration shared with Florida Georgia Line).
