Aside from the fact that we can experience two entities now merged into one musical experience, the bright possibility of even better productions keeps the excitement more feasible.
In the music industry, we have been impressed by duos, trios or groups who have transcended the internal battle of who should be in the spotlight and they managed to supply us with songs, albums and concerts that were way better than playing solo. The fusion of creative juices, the sudden mix of talents and the chemistry built through persistence in delivering something fresh are what made Galantis thrive.
Galantis is actually a duo comprised of very talented artists Christian Karlsson and Linus Eklow. Hailing from the energetic musical backgrounds of Stockholm, Sweden, Galantis is made to impress under the genres electro house, dance-pop, progressive house and big room house.
The duo has established their uniqueness and incomparable sets of skills through the shows they have participated in and the concerts where they are rooted for the most. What sets Galantis apart from other EDM neophytes is their ability to concoct tunes heralded from an equal distribution of greatness and the innate capacity to handle what the industry demands of them.
Before joining Galantis, Christian Karlsson was a known songwriter and prolific producer, generally making rounds within the halls of pop music. Karlsson has also participated as an active member of the Swedish indie pop band Miike Snow and played a key role in the famous production team called Bloodshy and Avant.
Christian Karlsson can be regarded as a songwriter slash producer for artists such as Katy Perry, Kylie Minogue, Madonna and Britney Spears. Spears’ song Toxic, which earned a Grammy for Best Dance Recording and an Ivor Novello Award, is co-written and produced by Karlsson.
On the other hand, Linus Eklow is otherwise known as ‘Style of Eye’, a music producer helping techno and underground genres become known within the mainstream. The track ‘I Love It’ performed by Icona Pop and Charli XCX is co-written and produced by Eklow.
After a long list of shows all over the planet, Galantis earned a seat as one of the most famous EDM artists of the current generation. They have performed in various worldwide music festivals such as the Ultra Music Festival (Miami, FL), Sunset Music Festival (Tampa, FL) and Beyond Wonderland 2016 (San Bernardino, CA).
Throughout the course of their career, Galantis managed to release two studio albums entitled Galantis EP (2014) and Pharmacy (2015), both of which gained positive responses and a strong foothold in album sales.
Galantis’ hit single Runaway (U&I) took the duo to greater lengths as it topped several music charts and is now nominated for Best Dance Recording in the 2016 Grammy Awards. Galantis is also a known fixture in Coachella since they debuted in the music festival in April 2014.
