Reminisce with these 90’s girl groups

90s girl groups (1)

The 90’s is best described as the dwindling years of cassette tapes and the birth of disks. More than the passing and rising of some technologies, the era of the music industry that was dominated by girl power transpired during this stage of history.

Of course, the discussion of this time will not be complete without talks about Westlife, NSync and the Backstreet Boys getting brought up, but let us not forget that one of the best highlights would be the domination of lady groups that echoed through radios and music players.

The legendary Spice Girls and Destiny’s Child shared the crown of being the most famous 90’s girl groups, but let us not set aside other bands that made the 90’s even more appealing. Other frontrunners also succeeded in setting the stage on fire making 90’s kids dance their way through their growing teenage years.

Without further ado, let us enumerate some of beloved bands that made the 90’s one of the most crowd-packing periods when it comes to concerts and musical events. Reminisce with your bell bottoms and belly showing tops as the trip to memory lane unfolds.

TLC

This R&B group was formed back in 1992. Some even believe that this band is the most successful in their chosen genre by far. Their captivating attitude and impressive vocal prowess are some of the best ingredients that made this band a real success.

But like other acts, the trio then separated after years of glory due to alleged bankruptcy. The ending may have been sad but their music still lives on.

Sugababes

Originally formed in 1998, stardom only came knocking during the early 2000’s. These chart toppers made a total of seven studio albums in the span of their career. These girls not only sing but boy can they dance, too.

There were several changes in the group with the inclusion of changing members. Their popularity wasn’t consistent compared to what the original members accomplished, composed of Mutya Buena, Siobhán Donaghy and Keisha Buchanan.

Atomic Kitten

The 90’s kids will surely relate to some of their famous songs including ‘Right Now’’ which jumpstarted their popularity. During the invasion of UK artists taking the US stage, Atomic Kitten’s popularity rose by providing a good deal of great singles especially in the hit chart arena.

There is no denying that this girl group once took the world by storm especially right after their first album was released and fans couldn’t wait for the much anticipated reunion that we can only wish to happen very soon.
