Vance Joy joining Paper Towns soundtrack

vance joy

Veering away from his acoustic rock sound, Aussie charmer Vance Joy will appear on one of the most anticipated romantic movie Paper Towns. His voice will grace the romantic movie with the song ‘Greatest Summer.’ The movie stars, super model turned actress Cara Delevigne and is written by none other than Fault in our Stars author John Green.

Joy’s Greatest Summer depicts the gist of this teen movie plot. The line ‘The kid you used to be. Well, I know that you’re still there. I hope you had a great summer. A great summer away.’ describes the phase lead role Quentin played by Nat Wolf when he had a chance to get close to Margo played by Delevigne. Repeated ‘Why’d I let you go’ seemed to describe Quentin’s emotions while in the venture of finding Margo when the latter mysteriously disappeared after doing a series of pranks to her cheating ex boyfriend.

Joy sang alongside other artists including the breakthrough band Saint Motel, Santigold, Vampire Weekend and Haim in giving added life to this another John Green masterpiece as they lent their voices for an amplified feel of love, adventure, losing and finding. The complete soundtrack itself is nothing but an ideal summer playlist worth singing with all throughout the bright sunny weather.

Born James Keogh, the Aussie singer’s screen name Vance Joy came from a character novel in ‘Bliss’ written by Peter Carey. His intention is to draw a line between his personal and professional life. Before getting fully into music, Vance Joy was a law student. He decided to give music full time and parked law school on the side. He signed up for Altlantic Music and not long after, he began doing international shows and did gigs alongside famous artists like Taylor Swift. His Debut album named ‘Dream Your Life Away’ was released in 2014 and even managed to enter billboard 200 charting number 17 as his highest peak so far.
