lollapalooza

With its weird name, this musical festival had been a must-see event being awaited by thousands of music lovers every year since its reprise in the year 2003.

Coming from an American idiomatic phrase which means an extraordinary thing or person, or anything that’s beyond unusual in a good way, the Lollapalooza Music Festival is an avenue for genres like alternative rock, heavy metal, pop, hip hop, EDM and punk rock to come together and entertain the always receptive ears of music lovers from all across the United States and the world.

Being done annually, this music festival has been on tours as well to nearby South American countries such as Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Colombia and will be held this year at Grant Park in Chicago for the dates of July 31 – August 2. Humongous names and acts in the music planet are set to the Lollapalooza stage on fire for this year’s franchise and ultimately, all the fest goers who would present in the event are in for a delightful, eargasmic treat.

The Lollapalooza Music Festival is the brainchild of Perry Farrell in 1991 as he bade goodbye to his then famous band, Jane’s Addiction. Since then, the fest has run annually until 1997 and was reprised in 2003 with a bigger audience that scopes North and South America.

For this year, the fest would be back to its hometown in Chicago with the help of concert outfit Capital Sports Entertainment. This music extravaganza entertains their patrons on a two or three-day music Utopia by some of the biggest names in the industry.

In general, the Lollapalooza’s audience is reaching an astounding audience count of 160,000 depending on the venue it would be performing at.

For 2015’s version, Lollapalooza would have a three-day schedule from Friday, July 31st up until Sunday, August 2nd. For the first day of the fest, front liners would be Paul McCartney, The Weeknd, alt-J, Alabama Shakes, Kaskade, Dillon Francis, Gary Clark Jr., Flying Lotus, DJ Snake, Hot Chip, The War on Drugs, Father John Misty, Cold War Kids, Sylvan Esso, MS MR, Tove Lo, St. Paul and the Broken Bones, Glass Animals, First Aid Kit, DJ Mustard, James Bay and Broods. Metallica, Sam Smith, Kid Cudi, Alesso, Tame Impala, Brand New, Carnage, G-Eazy, Walk The Moon, Tyler, Banks, Chet Faker and Django Django would lead the Saturday schedule. The last day of the fest surely would be best as Florence + The Machine, Bassnectar, Of Monsters and Men, TV on the Radio, Nero, Kygo, Nicky Romero, FKA Twigs, Sheppard and Mako are listed to perform.
